This is the content of an article under DOI (Could be enquired through mail at admin@vigilantscientist.com) Interaction with authors revealed that, a critical piece of information (about cloning and restriction digestion strategy in pCAMBIA, primer sequences for PCR and cloning, complete Southern blot figure) is missing in the article. Keeping it aside, we found that article is not carrying a single labeling error, but contains a smartly fabricated photograph which is very unique and new to our posts. In same article, author gave two different stress treatments i.e. Salt and Methylglyoxal (MG)…

One Picture; Many Papers i.e. JNU & ICGEB

Share this...FacebookLinkedinTwitterPrintemailFrom the producer of our story Antar Dhundo, we found that there is not a single event for image manipulation in the article. The follow-up studies have the usage of the same photographs again and again. From the below-given panels (4 different panels) you can see how the same figures have been used in 3 different articles. Institutions of national reputation like JNU and ICGEB are enjoying huge funding to carry out these studies from DBT, DST, CSIR etc. http://10.1099/mic.0.019869-0 http://10.1074/jbc.m110.111021 http://10.4161/psb.6.5.15106 4

Author might have made the changes in band intensities.

Share this...FacebookLinkedinTwitterPrintemailIn this post, we are sharing the possible reason how the changes occured in the two photographs before and after publishing. Till the article was in press, article contained Panel 1. In Panel 1, similar colour square boxes are the clones of bands. Like, bands in Red are identical, Green are identical; and Blue are identical to each other. How this could happen that bands are cloned in a Northern blot? Only author knows better. At the time of publishing, press might have asked author, for a better quality of photograph, so as it comes up in printable media as shown on the computer screen. On this, author thought…

Article in press! Figure Altered! Published Differently. Reason for Antar Dhundo..

Share this...FacebookLinkedinTwitterPrintemailYou might have enjoyed our post “Antar Dhundo“, as it contains two panels 1 and 2, which are almost similar with a few differences, which we asked you to identify. You will be amazed to know that two panels are for “Northern blots” of RNA isolated from different samples harvested under two variables i.e. salt concentration and days after salt stress (A-E). These photographs had been published in the same journal from the same contributors in, two versions as described below; Versions of this article developed as 1 no. panel was made available when the article was “in press” and published online on 17-05-2010  and 2 no. panel was…
